LuHi Boys Basketball School Tim Cluess, Iona, Head Coach... Phil Weber, New York Knicks, Assistant Coach... Joe Jones, Boston College, Associate Head Coach... Tom Pecora, Fordham, Head Coach... Bob McKillop, Davidson, Head Coach... Jay Wright, Villanova, Head Coach... These coaches have something in common; not only do they represent some of the best and brightest minds in basketball today, they are also a small sampling of coaches who once roamed the sidelines of the LuHi Boys Basketball School. The tradition of the LuHi Boys Basketball School is unparalleled. In 1961 LuHi Summer Programs offered two Schools: General Recreation and the LuHi Boys Basketball School. 50 years later, the Boys Basketball School is as strong as ever. The list of former campers is a proverbial "who's who" of Long Island basketball. The LuHi Boys Basketball School is, first and foremost, a teaching program. Teaching stations are given throughout the day with an emphasis on fundamental skill development, individual improvement, building confidence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Players are grouped by age and ability. League games are played twice daily, with playoffs at the end of each session. From beginners to varsity players, there is something for everyone at the LuHi Boys Basketball School. The Staff The LuHi Boys Basketball School prides it's self on putting together a terrific staff year in and year out. Our coaches don't just sit on the sidelines, they lace up the sneakers and step into the action! Last year's staff featured county & state champion coaches, as well as all conference college basketball players! This year's staff is shaping up to be as strong as ever.
