When can I enroll? Enrollment starts in the middle of January and is ongoing throughout the summer based on program availability |

What happens if it rains? Depending on the program the child is attending, rainy day activities vary. Our Recreation, GIFT, and Rookie programs continue their day with inside activities. Conditions dictate what our instructional sports schools do. (i.e., many will remain outdoors if it is a light mist, or we would try to schedule off-site gym space if the forecast is an entire day of showers). |

Is lunch included?
A lunch program is available on an optional basis at $50 per 2-week session. You must register for the lunch program on your application or call us at least two weeks prior to the start of the session. There is no refrigeration available for bag lunches, so they must be packed in a thermal bag with an ice pack. |

Can I register for one week of one session and one week of another session? No. Our sessions are set up to most efficiently schedule instructional curriculum, buses, tuitions, etc. Registration must adhere to our designated sessions. |

Is there water available?
We do have water fountains throughout the campus. It is advised that all students bring a water bottle with them. |

Are the buses air-conditioned? Are the clubhouses air-conditioned? The buses and clubhouses are not air-conditioned. All clubhouse rooms have plenty of windows with cross ventilation. Each room has a fan. The art rooms, computer rooms, Performing Arts Center, and the new Ammerman Center are the only air-conditioned rooms on campus. |

Are there counselors on the bus? No. Buses operate similarly to regular school buses. Students are reminded of bus regulations during specific program orientations. Improper behavior on the bus may result in students losing bus privileges. |

Do the buses have seat belts? There are seat belts on the buses. However, drivers are not required to buckle students in. |

Can I get picked up at one address and dropped off at another? Can I go home on my friends’ bus? No. Each student is assigned a seat on one bus for the entire session. Students may only ride on the bus assigned in order to maintain accountability. |

Are bus routes reversed from morning to afternoon (are the last picked up in the morning the first off in the afternoon)? Yes. Students that live the furthest from our campus must expect to spend the longest amount of time in transit. |

What if it is really hot out? It is always anticipated to be seasonably warm during our summer programs. However, in the case of an unusually hot day, water breaks and time out of the sun are increased. |

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio? Our minimum camper-to-counselor ratio is 9 to 1. Programs that include younger children (grades K to 3) generally have ratios as low as 6 to 1. Counselors include head counselors and junior counselors. |

Can parents visit? Parents are always welcomed on campus. However, you must stop at the front entrance and receive a visitors' pass. |

Is there religious education in the summer program? LuHi Summer Programs are non-sectarian. |

How rigid are the age/grade eligibility guidelines? Grade eligibility requirements have been determined for each program we offer. We must strictly adhere to these guidelines for the safety of our students. |

Can I pick up my child early? Students being picked up early must be signed out at the Nurse’s office by a parent or guardian no later than 3:30 p.m. Students may NOT be signed out by anyone other than a parent/legal guardian unless permission is received in writing prior to dismissa |

Can my son be in the same group as his friend? The Recreation, GIFT, and Rookie programs will honor special requests for group placement as long as students are in the same grade. This request must accompany your application in writing. Instructional programs group students according to ability level |
