The Lady Rookie School is specifically designed for young girls to learn the fundamentals and to develop basic skills in a variety of team sports including basketball, soccer, softball, lacrosse and team handball, plus track & field skills. Emphasis is on having fun while developing hand-eye coordination and footwork and learning positioning, game rules, and concepts of team play, with special emphasis on good sportsmanship. Girls will be involved in a variety of small group fun activities that promote working together within a team, cooperation, communication, and decision-making skills.

Girls entering grades 1 through 4.
Director, Allison Miglio.
Coach Miglio is an elementary physical education teacher in the Northport/ East Northport School District. In addition to teaching physical education she is a JV Soccer and Softball coach, as well as Middle School Lacrosse. She has been working at LuHi for 11 years with children and teens as a counselor and 2 years as a director. She is very eager to demonstrate to children the importance of being physically active and making healthy choices in life.
