Counselor In Training

The LuHi CIT Program is specifically designed to train students as summer program counselors. Students approved for enrollment in the program will attend a daily instructional class, receive certification in CPR, and be assigned to various programs for training and observation. Enrollment is limited to 25 students per session. Acceptance to the program is based on previous performance in this program, recommendations submitted from a Junior or Senior High School teacher and/or school administrator, and a personal recommendation from a non-relative. An interview on the LuHi campus may also be required.

Directors, Crystal Canino and Mike Ierano.

Ms. Canino and Mr. Ierano have been an integral part of the LuHi Summer program staff for over ten years. In that time they have served in a wide variety of positions. Because of their well rounded extensive experience Ms. Canino and Mr. Ierano are excellent mentors for young people seeking to train as summer counselors.

Recommendations must be received by June 3, 2012

Completion of the C.I.T. program is not a gaurantee of future employment at LuHi.
