Designed for the child who enjoys fishing and being on the water, this program is the first of its kind in the Long Island area. The purpose of the Fishing School is to expose children to experiences which will broaden their understanding in three key areas: fishing, boating, and environmental conservation. Under the direction of Mr. Theodorellis and an outstanding staff, the following topics will be covered: rod building techniques, casting instruction, environmental conservation, knot tying, catch and release techniques, fish specific strategies, boating safety, reel maintenance, and life on the water.
Program Features
Fishing excursions on U.S. Coast Guard certified party boats (weather & tide permitting), two fishing trips to a local lake, fishing instruction from local area experts, equipment provided by LuHi Summer Programs, daily recreational activities, and a lunchtime swim. Invited staff includes fishing experts from The Fisherman magazine, Long Island Custom Rod Crafters, and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Mr.Theodorellis is a teacher in the Huntington School District. He has been fishing the Long Island waters for over 30 years and has been an the Assistant Director of the LuHi Fishing program for the past 5 years. He is an outstanding educator and avid outdoorsman with over 15 years of experience in teaching and working with young people.
$1250 for the session.
Lunch is available for an additional $50 per session.
