LuHi Summer Programs is proud to announce a session of the internationally acclaimed Rising Stars Basketball Academy. Rising Stars is the finest program available to successfully improve basketball skills. It has been the featured instructional program at NBA camps (including the Michael Jordan camps) and various college camps across Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean. The program is unique in that it is totally interactive – players learn everything by doing.
Age Level
Boys entering grades 6 through 12.
Tuition
$975 per session. Lunch is available for an additional $60 per session. .
Director, Dan Gimpel.
Coach Gimpel brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to LuHi. As the National Director of Rising Stars, Coach Gimpel has worked at every level of basketball development. In addition to training Rising Stars players, Coach Gimpel also trains Rising Stars coaches. He succeeds in improving players’ skills and directs Rising Stars camps and teams throughout the year. He represents Rising Stars as a sought after clinician throughout the country. Coach Gimpel was a 4 year starter for Adelphi and was an All American, scoring over 1000 points in his career there. He was one of the youngest players to be inducted into Adelphi’s Hall of Fame. LuHi is pleased to add him to our staff of excellent directors and instructors..
Special Guest, Jay Williams
Jay Williams is the Chief Operations Officer of the Rising Stars Youth Foundation. One of the greatest college players of all time, Jay led the Duke Blue Devils to three ACC championships and a National Championship in 2001. Jay was selected second overall in the 2002 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. Jay will make an appearance during the session.
