Sailing at The Port Sailing School The Port Sailing School is located at the Brewer Capri Marina on Port Washington’s beautifully protected harbor. Students are grouped by age and experience. They are on a boat with an instructor at all times. This is a rain or shine program which includes classroom instruction on days with bad weather. Six-to-one is the maximum student-to-instructor ratio, and life jackets are worn at all times while on or near the water. Students completing the course will receive a New York State Safe Boating Course Certificate. Age Level Girls and boys entering grades 5 through 10. Tuition $1,300 per session. Lunch is available for an additional $50. Program Director, Chris Nihill. Mr. Nihill, Director of the Port Sailing School, leads an outstanding staff of sailing instructors with an average of 9 years of experience. Our instructors are either U.S. Coast Guard Captains or certified by the U.S. or American Sailing Associations.
