Theatre &
Performing Arts
LuHi’s Theatre and Performing Arts Program is held in our Performing
Arts Center. It is designed as both an introduction to musical theatre
arts and as an opportunity for students to refine the skills necessary
for stage performance and production. Some techniques to be explored are
stage movement, costuming, characterization and vocalization. The
purpose of the program is not only to introduce young aspiring
performers to professional theatre skills, but also to help them develop
self-esteem and build the confidence necessary for a strong stage
presence, skills easily applicable to students’ everyday lives. With a
strong emphasis on learning in a fun-filled environment, students will
have the opportunity to be a part of a one-hour performance of a
Broadway musical presented to family and friends at the program’s
conclusion.
